This being my first ever winter, I was surprised that my favorite treat (Ice Cream) also falls from the sky. I also like to play in it, snow that is.
One day after playing outside for a bit I decided to go and have a rest in my usual place on the deck of my home, I was sitting on the deck and watching the deer at the feeder for a bit and was getting a bit cold so I went and had a closer look at the big buck. All of a sudden there were five deer, time for a retreat to my personal place. It was time to have a wash, I spent a number of minutes cleaning myself, and then returned to deer watching. When I tried to get up to go inside, I was stuck and it hurt trying to get up, I let out a yelp, and my Dad came, he told me to sit and wait, then rushed into the house, but me being me, I didnít wait and thought one big pull, well let me tell you if you get frozen to a deck, wait until the hot water arrives.
Ahh nice a warm seat
I stood up and ran inside, straight to Dad. He told me to lie down and went to examine my two best friends, his comment was ď best wax job everĒ. After a couple ofhours he called the vet and was told to use some disinfectant cream on the areas effected by the loss of my fur and some skin. That helped and I decided that al least for that day I would stay inside.
About a month later it suddenly got down to Minus 20 degrees C, I didnít want to stay inside all the time and playing in the snow was getting my paws to cold, I didnít really want to sit down again ether, at least not on the deck or pathway. Hey there is a bale of hay here, to top up the deer feeder, I will go and sit on that, no canít see from there, all the railings get in the way, better idea, mouthful of hay and take it to my spot , spread it out and sit on that. Ha Ha clever me now I can sit and watch the world go by in comforteven when it's minus 20.
Morale of the story is, if itís cold lick it, don't sit on it.
