During the morning my Dad go all the suitcases and travel crate ready and he had booked the same Taxi service Mum uses, he had asked for an estate car because of the size of my crate. When the Taxi came Dad and the driver loaded all the baggage and then I jumpt into the car, I had to share the back seat with dad's case. It only took 15 minutes to get to Schiphol Airport and then we went into the terminal building. Dad had already checked in through the internet, but I had to go through a different procedure, at the special check in, they knew I was coming and had all the paperwork ready, and of we went to the plane.
KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines) is a really great company to fly with as a dog. My dad and I travelled Amsterdam to Vancouver and were treated like Royalty. It also saved my Dad a lot of money as they now have a new policy, that any Dog plus travel crate under 75 Kgs cost 160 euros or 200 dollars for transatlantic travel.
Now all they need to do is issue me a Flying Blue frequent flyer card, then I can start saving points just for me. All the ground staff are so friendly and helpful when I get to the airports, and this time the co pilot even helped my Dad with lifting the Travel crate on to a cart at Vancouver Airport.
It is great to be back in Canada again, after doing all the paper work, Show my Passport to the CFIA, we went to pick up the truck and we decided to head back in one go as Dad had been able to sleep on the flight. Dad stopped to pick up some food for me and a snack for him, and then we stopped along the road I had a good sniff and took a swim in the river I had some food.
Back on my acreage again, no more collar, and I can walk in and out of the house when I want, in Amsterdam I always had to wait for Mum or Dad to take me to the park, here I can decide for myself.
I had to check out the deer feaders, ponds and it was great to see Ziggy again.
